Leola is a bustling town that truly reflects rural America.
Enjoy the friendly small town atmosphere at the local cafes or
looking for unique gift items on Main Street stores. Known
as the "Rhubarb Capital of the World," Leola hosts a bi-annual
festival that features a wide variety of rhubarb cuisine that is
out of this world and activities and events for the whole
family. Other community events include a Threshing Bee
featuring antique farm equipment.
If you like the outdoors Leola offers excellent
hunting, fishing, and camping opportunities in the area.
For nature lovers, the Ordway Prairie is just 9 miles west and a
half mile south off Highway 10. This 7,800 acre prairie
tract was established in 1975 and is a haven for wildlife of all
species. It is one of the few places where you can
experience what the prairie was like when settlers first
arrived.
